Emerging Misson of Volunteer Positive


The Volunteer Positive community empowers people affected by HIV to be engaged global citizens by creating service opportunities through partnerships abroad.


Volunteer Positive promotes the development of expertise and professional capacity building for people living with HIV so that they may more effectively participate and direct the future of international and domestic HIV policy, harm reduction, and advocacy.

The Volunteer Positive community works to prevent HIV infections, increase the quality of life for those affected and by reducing HIV/AIDS-related stigma.

The Volunteer Positive community supports training and education for international service organizations committed to proactive inclusion for people affected by HIV.

Vounteer Positive Forum

The Volunteer Positive Forum is a collection of articles and discussions designed to support people living with and affected by HIV who have an interest in international travel and service. The research and articles are drawn from a variety of sources both official and anecdotal. The topics range from advice on where to travel and how to best prepare to highlighting the successes and struggles of individuals doing fieldwork.

This has been a significantly busy month and a productive one. I have my tickets in hand for my journey to Merida, Mexico which will allow me to meet with the founder of Brazos Abiertos and some of his board members as we explore the logistic possibilities of a partnership.I plan to take the opportunity to have a bit of a vacation, but also to spend most of the time in Mexcio doing what I can to help support the growth of our future partner.
